Meditation for Peace of Mind
A New Beginning
Every morning is like a new beginning; the Sun rises slowly spreading its sheen and greeting us to rise and shine. There is a new zeal and enthusiasm to begin the day.
The long restful sleep helps us gain back our energy and makes us feel rejuvenated!
But I ask, why only every morning. Why not make a new beginning every moment? Why not feel rejuvenated and remain unwound every moment of the day? Can we really do that? Is that even practically possible?
Let me answer that for you.
Just be ‘You’
Yes! We have the might within us to make a new beginning. Let’s not strive hard to be like him or her but begin with being ‘You’.
We are unique beings, each one so different from the other and hence we celebrate being an individual. The differences in flowers make the garden most beautiful. How boring it would be if we all looked and behaved in similar ways?
So how should we be comfortable in our being that is different from the rest? All we need to do is rekindle our self with Meditation. Meditation brings us out of the shackles of competitiveness and jealousy.
Being happy with ‘Being You’ comes with meditation. Meditation rekindles the energy levels and makes us confident of our own unique talents and strengths.
When we are being just ourselves, we are naturally happy and free and that’s when we feel peaceful within as there is no pretense.
Being Happy and Childlike
Meditation promises the rebirth of the child like nature of every being. This nature is a promise to a new beginning. A child smiles and laughs more than grownups because his mind is free of grime.
A child is always stress-free and happier because his mind has pleasant memories and the positive power to forgive and forget. So meditate to empty your mind of all the grind and let it reverberate with happy times to unwind.
Get or enjoying Rest
A new beginning happens when we rest or take a break. Booking tickets to unwind in a resort means to rest so that one can re-sort. We are not alive when we are stressful. Meditation gives more freshness than sleep induced by tranquilizers. A person who meditates lives in the present moment and gives his best. Meditation is our daily visit to a resort to shed our daily woes and open our eyes to a sense of wonder.
We are either nursing the bad happenings during the day or being anxious about the future. But a voice brings us to the present moment. Yes! Meditation is listening to the guiding voice of God. Its guiding light can alone put a stop to the chatter of the mind. Meditate to listen to the divine and get the power to see the guiding light.
Sharing and Giving
Meditation makes us empathetic and compassionate as it is our very nature. We learn to give up our greed as we are sure that the divine will satisfy all our needs. But to meet the divinity we must meditate as it gives us the idea to share and care.
Meditation for Peace of Mind
Adversity is the touchstone of a person’s character. We are calm, composed in normal situations and take proper decisions according to the need of the hour. But the question arises how many of us can maintain our cool as cucumber attitude during a panic?
It is really difficult to be level headed and take decisions with the same composure even in such situations. It is difficult but definitely not impossible. The tip to attain this composure during the most adverse situation is meditation.
Meditation is wrongly conceived as a practise for the spiritually inclined, older people. These are some myths shrouding meditation. It is the best way to relax, empty your mind of thoughts or look into your thoughts in detail. It enhances your concentration and brings in more clarity to your thoughts and action. Meditation calms your senses and makes it like a clear water pond from a puddle. Reflections are easy in a pond than in a puddle of water.
Have you ever tried recollecting your thoughts after a bought of panic or anger? It is really difficult. You would not be able to recollect them since there would be an eruption of emotions and any decision taken in such a state of mind would only result in chaos. Our emotions will range from anger, sadness, self – pity, self-blaming and so on will follow. We lose hold of the present moment and live in the past. This will affect us adversely and also affect our behaviour making it irritable and intolerable for others.
Meditation is not going to avert such unfavourable situations in your life. On the contrary it will help you to face such situations effortlessly and instead of reacting you will learn to handle and respond to such situations. Meditation helps you in maintaining your prana levels in the most adverse situations and take sensible decisions. Apart from maintaining your prana levels you can also influence others and make situations more peaceful.
Living in the present is the best gift you can get. Smile, enjoy the moment, live the moment. We all wish for this but often clouds of thoughts fill our mind and we get lost in the web. We forget the present and miss out the moment. Meditation can help you stay in the moment steering your mind clear of all thoughts. It helps you to enjoy your life and stay happy.
Create a time for yourself and meditate. Choose a calm place without much of distraction. Do not have any pre notions about meditation. Choose your favourite pose to sit, close your eyes and just let your thoughts flow. Do not make any effort to filter them. Do not put any effort to it. Ensure you make it a practise. It is ideal to meditate at least twice in a day. The results may not be instant but if you make meditation a regular practise you will definitely observe changes and these changes will help you glow in your life. It will make you stand out in a crowd and add clarity to your thought process.
Follow the practise daily and in a few days you will find a new happier, calm new self who has learnt to be in the present. A new self who can respond to every situation and make every moment of your life a celebration.
